The City of Harare, is offering a 20% discount to residents who settle their outstanding debts between January 19, 2026, and February 15, 2026.

This was revealed by Harare Mayor Cllr Jacob Mafume during a press conference at Town House yesterday.

Mafume said this initiative aims to improve revenue collection and enhance service delivery in the capital city.

“Residents who take advantage of this offer will not only benefit from the discount but also contribute to the city’s development.

Additionally, those paying in foreign currency will receive further discounts.

“Residents who are up-to-date with payments will be rewarded with loyalty points which means their next payments will also get discounts,”said Mafume.

The City Council has revealed that numerous residents and businesses have failed to meet their financial obligations, leading to a growing backlog of outstanding payments. The situation has become increasingly critical, impacting the city’s ability to provide essential services and infrastructure maintenance.
