By Wallace Mawire The Airports Company of Zimbabwe (ACZ) on 12 December,2025 in partnership with Dzikwa Trust held a “Make a Difference Day,” to support orphans and vulnerable children at the trust and in the Dzivarasekwa community.
The ACZ partnered with other organizations, some of them in the aviation sector to donate to vulnerable children. The donations included clothes, blankets, shoes and detergents, just to mention a few. The donations were made at a make a difference Christmas party held at Dzikwa Trust in Dzivarasekwa 2. Some of the companies and organizations who made a difference for the children include NMB Bank, Fastjet Zimbabwe, Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ), Bright lnsurance,Bonvie,Nemchem, Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) and the National Handling Services (NHS).
ACZ Public Relations Manager,Tonderai Mangombe urged other corporates and well-wishers to support vulnerable children in the communities. He also urged organizations who is were present at the event to keep donating to the trust any time and increasing their donations in future events. Faith Chiwungwe,ACZ Board Member said the company placed donation boxes dotted at the airport,which have helped to source various items for needy children.
She urged various stakeholders and members of the community to support deserving children. Oili Wuolle,Dzikwa Trust Programme Director said more than three decades ago in the high density community of Dzivarasekwa,her husband encountered a a simple but urgent reality that thousands of orphaned and vulnerable children were being left behind due to lack of opportunity.
Their aim is to support up to 400 orphans and vulnerable children every year. Wuolle thanked the corporates and organizations for their generosity, trust and belief in children and young people.
