The City of Harare has announced that dental fees for the years 2025 and 2026 will remain unchanged, ensuring continued access to affordable oral healthcare for residents.
The unchanged tariff schedule covers a wide range of general dental services, including diagnostics, preventive care, extractions, and restorative treatments.
Diagnostic services remain affordable, with initial and periodic examinations, consultations, X-rays, and emergency treatments priced at just USD$5 to USD$10.
In preventive dentistry, services like prophylaxis range from USD$10 to $20 depending on the condition and age of the patient. Fluoride application and oral hygiene instruction remain at USD$5, while fissure sealants cost USD$5 per tooth.
Extraction services continue to be reasonably priced, with individual extractions set at USD$10 and full clearance procedures ranging from USD$35 to USD$50. Treatment for post-extraction issues, such as haemorrhage or septic sockets, also remain at USD$5.
Under restorative dentistry, amalgam fillings for up to four surfaces are priced at USD$20, while composite restorations cost USD$30 per tooth. Simple fillings for children remain at USD$10.
Additional services such as polishing, crown removal, and recementing are also available at USD$5.
The City stated that keeping the fees constant reflects its commitment to accessible dental care, particularly for low-income residents, while maintaining quality service across municipal clinics.
