The State of Palestine has vehemently condemned the ruthless military strike unleashed by Israel in the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in the senseless slaughter of over 104 innocent civilians, including 46 children and 40 women.
The egregious act of aggression has been taken as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement established earlier this month, and said to underscore Israel’s utter disregard for human life and international law.
According to the State of Palestine, the latest atrocities have pushed the death toll in the Gaza Strip to a staggering 68,643 since the commencement of Israel’s offensive in October 2023. The state said the appalling figure is a grim reminder of the human cost of Israel’s relentless pursuit of violence and bloodshed.
The State of Palestine said the international community cannot remain silent in the face of such unmitigated brutality, and collective action and has been urged to hold Israel accountable for its crimes.
Ambassador Tamer Almassri in Zimbabwe has reiterated that Israel’s unprovoked attacks are a clear indication that the country is hell-bent on warmongering, sustaining itself at the expense of Palestinian blood. He said it is a damning indictment of Israel’s leadership, which seems more interested in perpetuating a cycle of war and violence. The Ambassador said the fact that Israel has consistently disregarded ceasefire agreements and has shown a callous disregard for human life suggests that its ultimate goal is not peace, but the subjugation and humiliation of the Palestinian people.
The State of Palestine has asserted its right to peace, security, and the protection of its people under international law.
“We will utilize every available diplomatic and legal avenue to ensure justice for the victims and to end this sustained campaign of aggression. The bloodshed must stop now.,” Ambassador Almassri said.
