In a heartwarming display of collaboration and generosity, St Christopher’s, a renowned organization providing rehabilitation services to children with disabilities, has donated crucial rehabilitation equipment to Health Promotion Clinic Trust (HPCT). The donation, sourced through Physionet UK, includes standing frames, walkers, and other mobility gadgets that will greatly benefit children in peri-urban and rural areas.

A Boost to Rehabilitation Services

The equipment donation will enable HPCT to enhance its rehabilitation services, providing essential support to children with disabilities. Health Promotion Clinic Trust offers comprehensive services, including professional wheelchair services, assistive devices for children and adults with disabilities, and home-based therapy services. These services aim to improve mobility, independence, and quality of life for individuals with disabilities in Zimbabwe.

A Multi-Sectorial Approach

Patricia Kambarami, Director of St Christopher’s, emphasized the importance of a multi-sectorial approach in supporting children with disabilities. “Helping children with disabilities needs a multi-sectorial approach. We have worked with HPCT before and appreciate this kind of collaboration,” she said during the handover ceremony. This partnership highlights the value of collaboration in driving positive change and improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.

Impact on the Community

The donation will have a profound impact on the lives of children in peri-urban and rural areas, enabling them to access vital mobility and therapy services. By providing essential equipment, St Christopher’s and Health Promotion Clinic Trust are working together to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for individuals with disabilities.
