Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide impacting millions of lives every year.
Health experts encourage early detection of breast cancer to help seek medical advice and increase survival rates.
Women are also encouraged to go for regular screening and self examinations.
Some of the symptoms for breast cancer to look our for include unusual lumps or thickening in the breast or underarm, changes in the size, shape or appearance of the breast, skin irritation or dimpling, pain in the breast or nipple area and unexplained discharge from the nipple.
The theme for this year breast cancer awareness is, Every Story is Unique, Every Journey Matters.
The theme recognises the diversity of experiences and reinforces the need for compassionate, timely and quality care for all regardless of geography, income or background.
