The 11th SADC Multi-Stakeholder Water Dialogue will be held in Maseru, Lesotho, from 29 – 30 September 2025, hosted by SADC and the Government of Lesotho with support from GIZ. Organised under the SADC-GIZ Transboundary Water Management Project with GWPSA, the biennial event gathers policymakers and stakeholders across water, energy, agriculture, environment, tourism, finance, and related sectors.

Themed “Water Security, Innovation, and Nexus Action: Watering and Enabling Regional Economic Development Corridors for Transformation in SADC,” the Dialogue will be opened by Hon. Mohlomi Moleko, Lesotho’s Minister of Natural Resources.

Discussions will centre on the strategic role of water in regional economic development corridors, using the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus. Key issues include institutional alignment, governance, financing, and climate-resilient technical solutions.

The Dialogue aims to enhance cross-sectoral coordination, promote innovation, and ensure water drives regional integration, industrialisation, poverty reduction, and climate-smart growth in SADC.
