Prominent Gweru lawyer Brian Dube has been appointed into the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) electoral committee as part of efforts to bring legal expertise to the football body.

In a letter dated April 16 ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi said the appointment is for a period of four years subject to renewal or review based on “performance, organisational needs and compliance with ZIFA statutes.”

“It is with great pleasure that we inform you for your appointment to the electoral committee of the Zimbabwe Football Association effective 28 March 2025, according to article 59 of the ZIFA statutes of October 2024,”Magwizi said.

“Your nomination and election are a reflection of your expertise, dedication and contributions to the development of football in Zimbabwe.

“As a member of the electoral committee your key responsibilities will include but not limited to organising and supervising, ensuring adherence to ZIFA’s statutes, regulations and electoral code of ZIFA regarding the election process strategic objectives within the scope of the committee’s mandate.”

The award winning human rights lawyer and former Gweru Urban legislator confirmed his appointment into the ZIFA committee in a confirmation and acceptance letter dated May 7.

“I Dube Brian acknowledge receipt of this appointment letter and accept the role of electoral committee under the terms outlined,”he said.
