Tichaona Chidziva(40) who was part of machete wielding gang that terrorized Chief Musana area, Bindura, in June 2024, attacking villagers and the business community, was on Thursday, convicted by Harare magistrate court to 26 years, with five years suspended on condition of good behaviour.
The Harare magistrate court convicted Chidziva on six counts of robbery and the other one of malicious damage to property.
Chidziva with his accomplices violently attacked victims, threatening to kill them with machetes and iron bars, before robbing them of their cash, cell phones, solar equipment, groceries and domestic gas tanks.
His accomplices, Michael Kamangira and Dzikamai Nyamhute were each fined $200 after found in possession of stolen property.
