The Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) is modernising its defensive driving training as part of efforts to improve road safety and equip motorists with skills to deal with hazards on the country’s roads.
Speaking at the launch of Defensive Driving Course (DDC) in Harare, this Friday , TSCZ managing director Mr Munesu Munodawafa (pictured)said the council was embracing digital solutions to simplify the delivery of defensive driving courses and reach more motorists.
“The defensive driving course should be easy to access, and we are embracing technology to make that possible,” Munodawafa said.
He said the initiative would complement the council’s road safety programmes by giving motorists greater opportunities to undergo training designed to promote responsible driving.
Defensive driving equips motorists with skills to anticipate hazards, identify potential risks and respond appropriately to dangerous situations.
Munodawafa said motorists had a key role to play in reducing road crashes by observing traffic regulations and adopting safer driving practices.
