Health Promotion Practitioners from various fields gathered on March 27 for a luncheon aimed at fostering collaboration and improving service delivery.

The event, organised by Health Promotion Association of Zimbabwe, brought together practitioners working in diverse settings, including community-based rehabilitation programmes, refugee camps, and children’s services.

Despite work commitments limiting attendance, those who participated shared strategies, best practices, and challenges, shaping the future of the profession. “Health Promotion Practitioners play a crucial role in organisations, driving initiatives that promote health, prevent disease, and address health inequities,” said Bigboy Madzivanzira, Founder and Director of Health Promotion Clinic Trust.

The event highlighted the importance of collaboration among practitioners. “They work behind the scenes to create healthy environments, build capacity, and empower communities to take charge of their health,” Madzivanzira noted.

Attendees agreed to schedule the next meeting on a weekend to maximise participation. A new date is to be confirmed.

The luncheon provided a valuable opportunity for networking and professional development, with attendees keen to strengthen ties and improve service delivery.
