Hatcliff – In a tragic turn of events, Corporal (CPL) Aleck Kamudzanga, a dedicated member of the Zimbabwe National Army, passed away on Wednesday while socialising with his brother at a tuckshop in Hatcliff. The 47-year-old soldier, born in December 1978, was a bricklayer with the Construction Regiment and was known for his kindness and dedication to helping others.

“Aleck was a man of the people, always wanting to see others happy,” said Brighton Matizanadzo, a colleague and friend from the Zimbabwe National Army. “He helped many home seekers acquire stands, and his kindness will be deeply missed.”

Kamudzanga’s funeral was held yesterday in Glenforest with full military honours, attended by top ZANU-PF leadership and multitudes of mourners. A military parade was conducted at Pomona barracks, where he was attached, to bid him farewell.
