Palestine Ambassador in Zimbabwe Dr Tamer Almassri has rejected Israel cabinet’s move of trying to impose colonization on the Palestine State and also altering the legal status and status of the occupied Palestine territory including Jerusalem.
In a statement, Dr Almassri said :
“The anticipated Israeli decisions to deepen annexation and impose new realities in the occupied West Bank, including Areas A, constitute a complete undermining of all signed and binding agreements, a dangerous escalation, and a blatant violation of international law.”
Dr Almassri said Israel has no sovereign authority and jurisdiction over the Palestine State.
“The State of Palestine stresses that Israel has no sovereignty over any of the cities or territories of the occupied State of Palestine, and that as an occupying power, it has no right to repeal or amend laws, including Jordanian laws and legislation that are part of the laws of the State of Palestine,”he said.
Ambassador Almassri reiterated that the approval constitutes a declaration of a full-fledged war crime, calling on states and international institutions to reject and condemn this crime and to open a criminal investigation into the war crime being committed by the so-called “Settlement Division” and the official bodies of the Israeli occupation.
“The international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and compel Israel and its extremist government to halt their dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank and the inflammatory statements of their officials, and to fulfil the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state as the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability in the region,”he said.
