Revolutionary Greetings Comrades,

As we traversed the country during this opening week, the reality on the ground is heart-wrenching. We have witnessed firsthand the systemic collapse of our public education system: crumbling infrastructure, plummeting enrollments, and teachers living in a state of constant distress.

While the masses suffer, a predatory class of Zvigananda, many of whom sit in the very government responsible for this decay, are cashing in. Their private schools thrive while our public institutions are deliberately starved of resources.

The death of the public school is a direct attack on the poor. In vulnerable communities like Hopley, the lack of public schools has forced parents into “makeshift” private institutions. Because these schools are not state-registered, the most desperate learners are denied the BEAM facility and ZIMSEC fee subsidies.

We are watching a generation of children from marginalized families being priced out of a future, unable to even sit for their Ordinary Level exams. This is not just a policy failure; it is a moral crisis.

For our public schools to survive, and for the dignity of the teacher to be restored, we demand:

1. A Living Wage: A minimum of USD 1,260 per month to reflect the value of our labor.

2. Constitutional Compliance: Fully state-funded education in line with Section 75 of the Constitution.

3. Infrastructure Justice: The immediate establishment of an Education Equalisation Fund to rebuild our schools.

4. Integration: The government must adopt makeshift schools in under-served areas, providing them with technical support and BEAM access for their learners.

The #SaveOurPublicSchools Campaign.

A revolution is not televised; it is documented by those who live it. For this campaign to break through the silence, we need you.

We are calling on all fighters across the country to become the eyes and ears of the union:

• Capture the Truth: Take videos and pictures of the crumbling classrooms, the empty desks, and the visible toll on teacher morale.

• Expose the Neglect: Document the reality that the government wants to hide.

• Submit Your Evidence: Send your footage and photos to the Union inbox immediately.

We will use your evidence to build an undeniable case and compel this government to fund the future of our children.

We have been fighting, and we will not stop until victory is won.

Do not give up. We have a nation to defend and a generation to save.

In Solidarity,

Cde Obert Masaraure President, ARTUZ
