Gweru based beer company, Go Beer Breweries has launched a new product into the market as part of the firm’s expansion strategy and meeting the growing demand of consumers.
Speaking at the launch of the new one litre beer product, named ‘Shikisha’, a Swahili name that means shake it, the company’s marketing manager, Sam Ganjani said the new product strengthens the portfolio of other products already into the market.
“This product marks a key milestone in our growth strategy as we continue transforming our portfoilio to meet the evolving consumer needs,”Ganjani said.
“Shikisha is a refreshing, smooth crafted for consumers who value great taste, quality and affordability.
“The brand name Shikisha speaks to energy, excitement and movement symbolizing a refreshing break from the ordinary. The inspiration for coming up with Shikisha was inspired by our consumers who are looking for beer that is smooth, affordable and full of energy.”
Ganjani said the idea behind the new product was to create a brand that fits well into everyday social moments, gathering events and night life.
He said the target market was young adults who enjoy socializing and lifestyle experiences although the product would also “appeal to value driven beer drinkers who also appreciate a well made and affordable product.”
“Shikisha strengthens our portfolio by adding an energetic brand that complements our existing brands like Chihera, Go5 among others,”he said.
“It also allows us a company to compete effectively in the mainstream and township value beer segment, expanding our reach and relevance.”
He said the new product will first be rolled out in the Midlands and once production stabilises expand to distribute it in phases to other provinces.
Ganjani said continuous innovation was one of the company’s key pillars as it seeks to uplift and grow the local economy as well as create more jobs.
He said the retail price for the new beer is US$1 for two or $0.50 for each one-litre product.
