Sekuru Oliver Sabau, 101 years,is  a beneficiary of Health Promotion Clinic Trust Community Based Rehabilitation Programme.

“Three weeks ago my father was walking alone without support from anyone. The problem came when he fell and broke his right hip bone and the rib at L5,”said his daughter Alice Sabau.

His granddaughter Sarah Kububa engaged Health Promotion Clinic Trust for an assessment and home-based rehabilitation. Mr. Bigboy Madzivanzira, the Director of HPCT, did a comprehensive assessment to establish needs and proper intervention.

Mr. Sabau told The Blast that  all  in his lifetime he was never admitted into hospital. The reason for his recent admission was his broken leg. He advised he worked for Swift as a driver and other companies but his pensions cannot sustain him. He lamented that he still has a lot of Zimbabwean old notes which are no longer useful.

He now looks at his last-born daughter for upkeep. His wife died in 1980. He is now left with three daughters and a son from ten children he had.

Health Promotion Clinic Trust donated a walking frame, courtesy of St Christopher  and reduced therapy fees from $30 to $15 per session. This support will greatly aid in his rehabilitation journey.

We commend Health Promotion Clinic Trust and St Christopher’s for their dedication to supporting the community, and we’re grateful for their partnership in improving lives.
