The Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) expresses its unwavering solidarity with Zukiswa Wanner, Mzewelivelile Mandla Mandela, Riaaz Ismail Moolla, and all peaceful activists abducted by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) while delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.

We are deeply alarmed by these violations of human rights. The actions of the IOF represent a clear breach of international law and the Geneva Conventions, disregarding the basic principles of human dignity and justice. The blockade of Gaza continues to devastate civilian lives, and obstructing humanitarian aid further worsens the suffering. The abduction of respected activists, including renowned author Zukiswa Wanner, marks a troubling escalation of intimidation and violence.

We call for the immediate and unconditional release of all detained activists. We further demand that the IOF allow the safe and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza. Governments across the globe must stand firm, uphold international law, and hold those responsible for these abuses accountable.

ARTUZ stands with the global community in condemning these acts. We urge the Zimbabwean government—and all governments—to raise their voices against these injustices. Our solidarity is with the people of Gaza and everyone affected by this ongoing conflict.

Together, we must ensure the safe return of our fellow activists and guarantee that humanitarian aid reaches those who desperately need it.
