Renowned Mhondoro Ngezi Afro Jazz sensation, using the trade mark name Chigaba, has joined big names in the music industry by penning yet to be released singles that show the plight of the youths and girl child.
In an interview with The Blast, Chigaba said the yet to be released singles will act an advocate to give the girl child equal opportunities in society.
“I have joined other big names in the industry addressing the plight that is affecting girl child and youth and the elderly.This comes in with my singles that are yet to be realised Munamato and Girl child (Mwanasikana) .This is based on my vision under the banner *#thevunlerablecommunitiesadvocate*.Here I stressed the need to give equal opportunities to the girl child in decision making processes,no to early marriages”, he said.
The Single Munamato is a prayer song for society to address the plight of orphans and child headed families who are being forced to indulge in drugs and substance intakes or prostitution to eke a survival as a result of their situations.Chigaba implores society to address their plights and take supportive measures.
The Single Girl Child (Mwanasikana) urges society to give the girl child who is often subjected to social ills such as forced early child marriages and sexual abuse, an opportunity to have a say in their destinies.
Chigaba is a rising Afro Jazz young musician who is defying all odds despite his location and is making waves among the country’s long established musicians.
He has shown the ability and zeal to become the latest star in Afro Jazz music in the country.
