Perennial award winning Gweru business couple, Engineer Mncedisi Dube and Professor Smelly Dube have been honoured with Lifetime Achievements of the Highest Order in the engineering and construction sector at the recent Zimbabwe CEO Network awards held in Harare.

In conferring the awards the CEO’s Network noted that the backbone of a modern nation is its existing infrastructural projects and developments hence the need to recognised individuals who excell in that area.

Engineer Dube and Professor Dube who are chairman and chief executive of property developer River Valley Group of Companies respectively have been championing construction projects particularly in the housing sector not only in the Midlands province but the country as a whole.

In congratulating the Dube’s, Zimbabwe CEO Network leading organiser Dr Tafadzwa Matsika said the honour was testament to the couple’s dedication, creativity and hard work in their professional fields.

“Congratulations on being nominated and ultimately being a recipient of this award at the esteemed construction and engineering captains, road construction experts, leading brick makers, distinguished town planners and a plethora of seasoned construction and engineering captains,”Dr Matsika said.

“As a beacon and of service excellence this is a significant achievement and a testament to your dedication, creativity and hard work in your respective professional arena.

“Your innovative strategies and dedication to an optimum modern nation have caught the attention of industry experts and peers and it is truly commendable that you have been recognised for your outstanding contributions.”

Engineer Dube paid tribute to the River Valley team for the award saying without them the recognition would not have been possible.

“It’s an honour to be the best engineer in the construction field and this could not have been achieved without the team work and dedication at River Valley Group of Companies,”he said.

Professor Dube echoed the same sentiments and said the company was growing into an international company.

“Because of dedication and hard work at River Valley as well as unwavering support from stakeholders as a company we are spreading wings as far as UK and Australia,”she said.

Recently the couple was honoured among Africa’s top 100 most influential people at a Leadership and Business Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda and before that Professor Dube was inducted into the prestigious National Excellence Hall of Fame in Harare.
