River Valley Group of Companies chief executive Amb Prof Smelly Dube has said the award as one of the 100 Most Notable Africans given to her alongside the company’s chairman, Eng Mncedisi Dube in Kigali, Rwanda last week inspires and motivates her company to add value to government’s economic programme, Vision 2030.
“This honour motivates us as River Valley Group of Companies to remain focused and add value to our country’s economic revival, that is Vision 2030 and Africa’s Agenda 2063,”she said.
Prof Dube and Eng Dube were listed among Africa’s top 100 most influential people for 2025 alongside prominent figures in the continent such as Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote and Egyptian footballer, Mohamed Salah who plays for English Premier League club, Liverpool.
Prof Dube said the company would keep on heeding President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s call for active citizen participation in building the country.
“As River Valley Group of Companies we will keep paying attention to the clarion call by his Excellency President E.D Mnangagwa that noone but ourselves can build the Zimbabwe we want as well as SADC and Africa as a whole.”
According to organisers of the event 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa champions “peace, unity among African nations, drive positive change and economic growth initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, innovation, strengthen governance and education across the African continent.”
The organisation said it advocates for policy reforms and initiatives that promote good governance, transparency and accountability in Africa’s public and private sectors.
“The awards showcase and celebrate the achievements and contributions of African leaders and businesses to inspire future generations and promote a positive image of Africa globally.”
Recently Prof Smelly Dube was inducted into the prestigious National Excellence Hall of Fame in Harare, an honour given over River Valley Group of Companies successes.
