Arsenal have parted ways with star midfielder, Jorginho.
The club confirmed on its website on 6 June.
“We can confirm that we have reached a mutual agreement with Jorginho to end his contract with immediate effect to become a free agent.
The 33-year-old midfielder joined us from Chelsea in January 2023 and made 78 overall appearances in all competitions for us during his time with the club.”
The vastly experienced, Brazil-born Italy international made a memorable impact in only his second start for the Gunners with his superb stoppage-time shot helping secure a 4-2 Premier League win at Aston Villa.
Jorginho (full name Jorge Luiz Frello Filho), soon became a hugely respected member of the squad. His natural leadership skills, together with his control in midfield, intelligent positioning and extensive, high-quality passing, ensured that he was a valuable and integral part of the club.
During Jorginho’s impressive career, as well as Chelsea, he has also played for Hellas Verona and Napoli in Serie A. At international level, Jorgi has made 57 appearances for the Italy national team and was a key figure as the Azzurri won the delayed Euro 2020. Also in 2021, he was named UEFA Men’s Player of the Year and placed third in the Ballon d’Or.

According to reports, the player leaves Arsenal and and has signed with the Brazilian side, Flamengo until December 2028. He will compete in the Club World Cup. The player will receive around €13M net. Considering taxes and charges, the total amount will be around €16M.
