The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has released new fuel prices effective from 4 April to 4 May 2025, with both diesel and petrol seeing slight decreases.
According to the latest update, diesel prices dropped by 3 cents, while petrol went down by 2 cents. The changes are based on the M-1 pricing system, which is standard for monthly fuel adjustments.
“The prices are for April 2025 based on M-1 and they will be effective up to 4 May 2025,” ZERA said.
ZERA confirmed the new pricing via its official channels and reminded fuel operators that they may sell below the set prices if their business conditions allow. However, prices must be clearly displayed, in line with fuel pricing regulations.
ZERA also clarified that the blending ratio for petrol remains at E5, meaning ethanol makes up 5% of the fuel blend. This is important for both pricing and fuel quality standards.
“The public and operators are advised that the blending ratio is at E5. Operators may sell the petroleum products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages and should display prices in a prominent place as provided for by the fuel pricing regulations,” ZERA announced.
ZERA encouraged the public and fuel retailers to stay informed about any future price changes by visiting its official website or following updates on Facebook and Twitter.
“Stakeholders are advised that the petroleum price releases by ZERA can be verified on the official ZERA website, Facebook or Twitter handle,” ZERA emphasised.
