Masvingo city council through the health department has launched a health programme which will see pupils undergoing regular medical checkups.
Said the local authority in a statement:
“We are excited to announce the School Health Program, designed to promote the health and well-being of our students.
The programme objectives include- provide regular health check-ups and screenings, offer health education and counseling, promote healthy habits and lifestyles, and support students with chronic health conditions.”
Under the programme, pupils will benefit from: – “Improved health outcome ,enhanced academic performance, better attendance and reduced absenteeism, increased self-esteem and confidence.”
Added the statement:
“The school health programme is essential for promoting the health, well-being and academic success of school aged children. By investing in school health programme, we can help build a healthier more productive and successful future generation.”
