17 people have so far died from diarrhea in the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Child Care, latest report.
Read the report for the week ending 2 February 2005:
“Weekly disease report for
Common diarrhea
8 464 cases and 0 deaths were reported this
week. 3 358 cases were from under
five years. Provinces that reported the highest
number of cases were Mashonaland Central 1 178 and
Mash East 1 157. Cumulative fig now 35 265 cases and 17 deaths.”
The ministry said 2009 Malaria cases were recorded while six succumbed to Malaria.

“2 009 cases and 6 deaths were reported this week. Two
deaths were reported from Mtre District, 1 Chimanimani
District, 1 Buhera District, 1 Rushinga District, and 1
Makonde District. Of the
reported cases, 201 (10.0 %) were from under five years.

“The provinces that reported the highest number of cases were Manicaland 824 and Mashonaland West 527. Cumulative figures for malaria cases are 5 710 and 17 deaths.
The cumulative CFR is 0.3%.
