The country’s largest inland dam, Tugwi Mukosi is now 88,1 percent full, following the rains that are falling in the southern parts of the country.
According to a report released by the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) as at 14 February, the national dams average capacity stood at 78,7 percent.
“Dam levels as of February 14, 2025. The dams remain on an upward trajectory as the country continues to receive rains. The national dam level average is now 78.7%.
Marked improvements have been recorded in dams in Masvingo Province where the country’s largest inland water body, Tugwi-Mukosi is now 88. 1% full, thanks to rains upstream. Manjirenji Dam, another dam in Masvingo and a key source of water for the Mkwasine Sugarcane estates is now 52. 9 percent.
” The dam ended 2024 while at 12%. Siya Dam has also registered remarkable inflows and is now 40. 2% full,”said ZINWA.
