Mhondoro Ngezi Rural District Council, councillor for ward 11, Kurebwa Javangwe Nhomboka says 90 percent of street lights in the ward are now working and notable progress is being made.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with The Blast, Nhomboka paid tribute to the council management team  led by the Chief executive officer for the sterling work done to address challenges faced by residents and ratepayers.
“I am grateful to note that 90 percent of the street lights are working, though there are some areas where the problem needs to be rectified.I am quite happy with the progress being made and would like to pay tribute to efforts being made by the Chief executive officer and his team at our council,”said Nhomboka.
He added:
“On the water provision, I am grateful that with the help of council, the water challenges have been addressed…we no longer have that challenge.”
Turning to residents complains over the increase in theft, Nhomboka urged residents to form neighbourhood watch committee.
“I would like to urge residents to form neighbourhood watch committee to address the issue of theft in the ward to mitigate this crime problem.”
“Our residents must also pay rates for council to be able to deliver as without money council cannot be able to deliver 100 percent.
I know residents are facing difficulties like any other citizens in the country because of our economic challenges but that also impacts our service delivery because without money some of the things cannot be delivered on time,”added Nhomboka.
