Former Highlanders and Dynamos striker Cuthbert Malajila has expressed his delight over Prophet Walter Magaya’s partnership with the Kadoma City Council to renovate the city’s biggest stadium Rimuka which has become an eyesore.

On Tuesday, Magaya and the Kadoma City Council announced their collaboration to refurbish the stadium which last hosted top flight league football 17 years ago.

The development has thrilled Malajila, a Kadoma born footballer who once played for Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits.

“I’m pleased that Prophet Magaya has committed to working with the Kadoma City Council to renovate Rimuka Stadium.

“This place holds special memories for me because I grew up playing here,” Malajila told journalists.

“What excites me the most is that Prophet Magaya is making significant contributions to sports infrastructure development.

“His efforts are evident at Heart Stadium, as well as his pledges for Rufaro Stadium, the National Sports Stadium, and the Chahwanda Stadium project in Kwekwe.”

Magaya assured his commitment to upgrade Rimuka Stadium to meet the required standards set by football authorities.

“We are partnering with the Kadoma City Council to revamp Rimuka Stadium and ensure it meets the necessary standards,” he said.

Magaya toured the facility alongside Kadoma Mayor Councillor Nigel Ruzario and Town Clerk Malvern Dondo.
