Popular Masvingo based clergyman, Prophet Lovemore Chevure has lept to the defence of businessman and socialite Wicknell Chivhayo, following his barrage of attacks from some section of the citizens for dishing out , vehicles and cash like confetti to some members of the society.
In an interview with The Blast, the youthful Prophetic Grace International Church leader said its sad to note that the society especially those who are struggling to make it in life have become so jealousy to some people scorning their efforts of uplifting the lives of communities.
“If you take a close look, people who are poor or are struggling to make ends meet are full of I know… they know everything.If you go even to the rural areas, people who know everything which happens in the village are those who are struggling,” said Chevure.
“They falsely accuse others for using goblins to succeed in life, labelling other people as false prophets, accuse church leaders of snatching other people’s wives.
Those who are falsely accusing Chivhayo are poor.We have to learn a lesson from Sir Wicknell who is sharing part of his wealth with citizens.I applaud his efforts.Even the bible applauds those who give unto others.
“We have a lot of wealthy individuals who are even failing to render assistance to fellow citizens,” said Chevure.
Chivayo is a Zimbabwean businessman and socialite known for his controversial rise to wealth and subsequent involvement in high-profile corruption scandals. He gained notoriety for his lavish lifestyle and connections to influential figures in Zimbabwean politics, often overshadowing his business ventures with accusations of corruption and fraud.
He has however been applauded for assisting some Zimbabwe citizens with vehicles and has donated to charity.However some section of society have questioned his source of wealth accusing of allegedly acquiring through corrupt means.
